Assist America’s 24/7 Operations Center, staffed by multilingual trained personnel, provides immediate support with emergency recommendations.

If a prescription is lost or left behind, Assist America will contact the prescribing physician and work with a local pharmacy to replace the member’s medication. The cost of the prescription is the member’s responsibility.

Assist America ensures prompt hospital admission by validating the member's health insurance with the hospital and/or issuing a financial guarantee to facilitate admission to a foreign medical facility. The member must agree in writing to repay any funds advanced within 45 days.

Assist America’s support team closely monitors the course of treatment and maintains regular communication with patients, their families, and the medical staff.

If suitable medical care is unavailable, Assist America will safely evacuate the member to the nearest qualified medical facility.

Assist America provides commercial transportation to home or to a rehabilitation facility proximate to the member’s residence with a medical or non-medical escort as required

If a member is evacuated and is traveling with immediate family, Assist America will arrange and pay for either the return of the immediate family members to their place ofresidence or to the location where the member is evacuated.

If the member is traveling alone and is expected to be hospitalized for more than five days, Assist America will arrange and pay for a selected family member or a friend to join the patient.

Assist America will pay and arrange for one-way economy transportation in order for a member to return home due to a death or critical illness diagnosis of an immediate family member.

Assist America will arrange and pay for round-trip economy air transportation or other appropriate means of transportation for up to two designated family members to travel to the member’s place of death and return to place of original departure.

In the event of a member’s passing, Assist America will arrange and cover the costs for necessary documentation, preparation, and transportation of the remains to a funeral home near the member's home.

If an elder parent or minor child is left unattended due to a member’s medical emergency or death, and has difficulty traveling alone, Assist America will arrange and pay for one-way transportation to their place of residence, with escorts as necessary.
