"Hi my name is Dany and I am 18 years old. I am now at the beginning of my life in the ‘real’ world and thinking back, this looked like a distant dream a few years ago.
My dad passed away in a car accident when I was only 8 years old. We, my mother and I, went through a lot of difficulties at that time. In addition to the loss and sadness, my mother was worried about all the financial implications. My dad used to take care of all our finances including my school fees and all of a sudden, my mother had to find a way to pay for all of these.
When my school came to know of the tragedy, they called my mother and told her not to worry about my tuition fees as they have an insurance policy covering all tuition fees until graduation in case of death and disability of the parents or legal guardians of their students.
She was immensely relieved. I was good at my studies and she could not bear the thought of taking me out of school because of our financial difficulties.
Today, I have made her proud of myself. Here I am graduating with flying colours, thanks to the fees paid by the insurance company."
